Mix Series – July Edition (Edgar J x DJ LA.D.DA)

Local Austin DJ staple, DJ LA.D.DA, was gracious enough to invite me last December to be part of his 2012 Mix Series.  I of course accepted and now it’s finally here.  July is my month for the mix series so here it is.  Download it, Share it, Enjoy!

Six Lounge – 7 Year Anniversary

What better way to keep the fun going than to come back from my Euro trip and have Six Lounge’s 7 Year Anniversary party the next day!  Tina T was brought in as the Headlining DJ with Mighty Mike and myself opening up for her.   Great party and it was great to finally meet the talented Tina T.

Switching to the Dark Side

As many of you already know, I’ve been in the market for a new phone for some time.  Mostly due to carrier issues.  As great as T-Mobile is for budget conscious consumers, it was not meeting my needs.  Having decided to go with Verizon, I was left with a dilemma.  Should I stick with my tried and true Android OS or switch over to iOS.  Normally this would be an easy decision seeing that I am an Apple user (not a bandwagon rider since I’ve been using Apple products since before they were the cool thing…FYI).  But here is where I make an exception…the iPhone is the one product Apple has that I do not believe is what it should be in terms of technology given the resources Apple has.  I also have my issues with Android as only a select number of phones actually utilize the Android OS properly.  The Nexus series being the best.  The phone I’ve been using up to now has been the awesome HTC Nexus.  The one that started it all.  It has been an incredibly powerful phone even though it is a device that is roughly 3 years old.  Which in the tech world, 3 years translates to “over the hill”.  But a digress….

It came down to the Samsung Galaxy Nexus vs. the iPhone 4S.  After weighing the pros and cons of both phones it really came down to size.  I am not a big fan of the big brick phones.  Sure the Galaxy Nexus is slim, but put it in your pocket and it looks like you’re always “happy” to see everyone.  So yes folks, I am an iPhone convert.  So far it has been a rough road getting used to the switch but I can’t complain.  iOS is a very streamlined OS and a good experience as a whole.  Not to mention Verizon, although a little more expensive, is surprisingly great as far as coverage.  Heck, I am in Juarez (Mexico) as I write this and my phone shows 3 bars of Verizon 3G signal.  Overall I am pleased with the switch.
